Telugu Cinema Revenues – Testing Times

Come this October, and you would witness high budget Telugu Movies releases. With the likes of Mahesh Babu Mahesh Kaleja, NTR Brindavanam, Ram Gopal Varma Rakta Charitra and Endhiran – The Robo (dubbed), the up market trend fortunes of Telugu cinema industry would largely be influenced.

Since all these high budget films are releasing in October and next 3 months, the revenues from films are significant to Telugu film industry. With very few films hitting the deck and engrossing profits since last year, the chances of big movies making revenues are highly skeptical.

But the pre-release hype for all the big budget Telugu movies is really inspiring and is drawing the audience to the crowd – resulting in massive openings. However, the film’s longevity would boil down to the real content, flavor, screenplay and the genre.

On the flip side, the small and medium budget movies are bearing the brunt. These small Telugu movies are facing the music on account of poor openings, lack of theater availability and enough funds for movie promotion. All this putting the small producers on the back foot.

Mahesh Babu Dookudu' shooting in Ahmedabad

Mahesh Babu Srinu Vytla combination movie is Dookudu shooting would start from September. Recently Mahesh Babu said that he was very impressed with Seenu Vytla script and would settle for nothing less than a blockbuster.

This Mahesh Babu Seenu Vytla movie shooting would commence in Ahmedabad, Gujarat starting from late September. Looks like the movie would start shooting a long first schedule. This movie is titled as Dookudu and is produced by Anil Sunkara, Achanta Gopinath, Achanta Ramu under 14 Reels Entertainment.

Samantha is the heroine in Mahesh Srinu Vytla movie and already people are going crazy about Mahesh Babu Samantha combination. Prasad Marella, who earlier worked for Dhee, Ready, Simha, cranks the camera while Thaman is scoring the music. Gopi Mohan is penning the story while Vijayan is the action director.

Turn off, Mahesh Babu’s Mahesh Kaleja release date has been announced as September 30th, while Mahesh Kaleja audio release date is expected shortly.

I’m not No.1 says Mahesh

 Mahesh once again stated that there are no number one heroes in these days. “Every Friday we will have a new number one. Whichever film works on given Friday, the hero in it will be the number one for that week. Gone are the days of superstardom. That is what I feel,” said Mahesh while talking to media during a promotional event of Khaleja.
Talking about the gap he has taken after Athidhi “Yeah… I was actually bored of answering this question. Initially I thought of taking a gap of six months due to some personal issues. But the gap was extended to one and a half year and later there were some unexpected delays during the shoot of Khaleja. However, I have no complaints as my film is finally getting ready for release. The film has come out really well and I’m hoping it to do well,” Mahesh said.

It seems that Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar bought Mahesh a brand new Range Rover Vogue to gift him on his birthday. Mahesh Babu’s Birthday is on August 9 and fans are already busy in making the arrangements for the celebrations.

In fact, an enthralled Mahesh Babu Tweeted, "My wife decided to gift me a monster for a birthday gift!!! Its the range rover vogue. Its arrived a week early..but looks awesome.
